McManus favours Teachers Pet for handicap bid

After hitting the target with five winners at Galway over the Bank Holiday weekend, JP McManus is represented in the most valuable event on today's Thurles card by Teachers Pet who will be bidding for a third handicap hurdle success in recent months.
Twice successful at Downpatrick, the five-year-old is trained by Philip Dempsey and will be ridden by his son, Luke, when she faces 12 rivals in a race which carries a first prize of just under €10,000.
