South African champion Gavin Lerena ended the Shergar Cup on top of the world after his double and is hungry for more.

Despite losing out to Thierry Jarnet for the Alistair Haggis Silver Saddle, the Rest of the World rider enjoyed himself so much that he is extending his stay and hopes he might pick up a ride or two in the next week.

He said: “I’m here with my dad and we're going to Newmarket for a couple of days to Mike de Kock’s then to London to sightsee a bit. But I’m also hoping I might pick up a ride or two and I have Tony Hind [agent to Ryan Moore and others] looking out for me.”
