Latest going and market movers for day one of Newbury's Winter festival
The going is soft, good to soft in places for the first day of Newbury's Winter festival, where Paisley Park is set to star in the Grade 2 Ladbrokes Long Distance Hurdle (3.00).
Andrew Gemmell's seven-year-old will be seen on the track for the first time since his comprehensive victory in the Stayers' Hurdle at Cheltenham in March, with Thistlecrack the main danger according to the morning market.

The Grade 2 contest features the last four winners of the race – Unowhatimeanharry (2018 and 2016), Beer Goggles (2017) and Thistlecrack (2015).

Also set to play a leading role on the day is the Nicky Henderson-trained Champ, who is looking to justify his standing at the head of the RSA Chase market when he faces five classy rivals in the Grade 2 novice chase (2.25).
Familiar names including Kalashinkov, Glen Forsa and San Benedetto litter an intriguing handicap chase at 1.50, while there may well be several future stars lurking in the pair of novice hurdles at 12.15 and 1.20.
Clerk of the course Keith Ottesen said: "The going is soft, good to soft in places. We had 2.5 millimetres of rain overnight and the forecast is for a dry and sunny day."
