Jim Bolger stable stalwart Flight Risk drops in trip for Testimonial Stakes
Multiple Group 3-winner Flight Risk drops in trip in the Listed Waterford Testimonial Stakes (3.15), in which the Jim Bolger-trained eight-year-old seeks a fourth win of the season.
The son of Teofilo has won three times this season over longer distances and faces nine rivals on his first run over six furlongs since 2017, including British runner Fairy Falcon.
The four-year-old is fitted with first-time cheekpieces and trainer Bryan Smart said: "She's in good form. I'm very happy with her, though she was a bit disappointing at Ayr last time. I hope she gets the trip."
A New Dawn and Shehreen, second and fourth in the 7f Group 3 Weld Park Stakes at this track two weeks ago, renew rivalry in the mile Listed Staffordstown Stud Stakes (2.40).
Beaten a neck by her stablemate New York Girl last time, A New Dawn finished over five lengths clear of Shehreen and Joseph O'Brien, trainer of the daughter of Zoffany, said: "A New Dawn has been in fine form since her good run last time and I think the trip will suit her."
Dermot Weld, trainer of Shehreen, said: "She's been in good form since her last run. She's a consistent filly and I think the extra furlong should suit her well."
The line-up also includes the Aidan O'Brien-trained Fancy Blue, a winner over seven furlongs on her debut at Navan last month, and the Ger Lyons-trained Auxilia, a five-length winner over the same trip at Navan in August.
All eight runners in the 6f Legacy Stakes (2.05) are winners and they include Cheveley Park Stakes fourth Tango, representing Aidan O'Brien, who landed the Listed event with All The King's Men a year ago, and course-and-distance winners French Rain and Lil Grey.
