Jessica Harrington: Loch Lein in great form and we hope she'll run a big race

Carrytheone: won at Gowran Park last month for trainer Johnny Murtagh
1 of 1

Monday: 3.35 Tipperary
Coolmore U S Navy Flag Concorde Stakes (Group 3) | 7½f | 3yo+ | RTV

Johnny Murtagh's Carrytheone comes into the contest fresher than most given his Gowran Park win over 7f last month was only his second start of the season.

Carrytheone won with some authority on yielding ground at Gowran and the handicapper thought the performance was sufficiently impressive to raise him to a mark of 106 (from 101).

He will need to find further progression to win this, but given he doesn't have many miles on the clock and handles this soft ground he is the obvious starting point in search of the winner.

Ado McGuinness won this Group 3 prize 12 months ago with Current Option and Casanova represents the same connections. However, Pretreville looks the more interesting of McGuinness's two runners given he boasts some decent form and is versatile ground-wise.

A seven-time winner in France, Pretreville changed hands for 95,000gns at the horses-in-training sales and is a fascinating runner given he has the highest rating of 112.

A Ma Chere represents Dermot Weld, who has won this five times since 2010. Winner of one of her six starts, A Ma Chere will handle the ground but needs to find improvement to be in the shake-up.

Loch Lein could prove a much bigger threat to the boys. She proved how well she acts on soft ground when bagging a Listed prize over 7f at Deauville in July. A close-up third in the Group 3 Sceptre Stakes on much quicker ground at Doncaster last time, she rates a major player here.

Joseph O'Brien also has a solid hand with Snapraeterea, Rocket Science and Emphatic Answer.

What they say

Johnny Murtagh, trainer of Carrytheone
He came out of Gowran Park very well. He has a bit to do on ratings but is going very well at home.

Ado McGuinness, trainer of Casanova and Pretreville
Casanova is worth a shot at this level and comes here in good form. Pretreville is a new recruit from France and is a nice horse. He's the top-rated in the line-up and seems versatile ground-wise, although he wouldn't want it very soft.

Joseph O'Brien, trainer of Snapraetera, Rocket Science and Emphatic Answer
The course and distance should suit Snapraeterea and he'll enjoy the soft ground. He's a Listed winner and we're hoping he can make his mark at Group 3 level. Rocket Science always runs well at Tipperary. She ran well at Gowran Park last week and we're hoping for another good run from her. We've been pleased with Emphatic Answer and how she's been training. This is probably as sharp as she'd like it, but she's in good shape and we'd be delighted if she could get some black type.

Jessica Harrington, trainer of Loch Lein
She's in great form and we're hoping she'll run a very big race. Seven furlongs on soft ground will be fine and we're very hopeful.
