'Improving' Rock On Dandy chasing course and distance hat-trick

Rock On Dandy (7.30)

Rock On Dandy will make the journey east from Fergal Birrane's Killala, Co Mayo yard seeking a course and distance hat-trick in Thursday's 1m4f handicap.

The three-year-old has won on both his starts since joining Birrane, having previously been trained by Harry Dunlop, and Padraig Beggy, who rode him to his two Dundalk wins, is again on board.

Birrane said on Wednesday: "Rock On Dandy came out of his last win very well and seems to be improving all the time. We're hoping for another big run.

"Padraig has done a brilliant job on him. Last time there was no pace and he had to go on five furlongs out. We'll probably try to settle him in behind the leaders tomorrow."

Rosenborg Rider (5.00)

The Ado McGuinness-trained four-year-old has gone up 8lb in the ratings for this mile handicap following a course victory over seven furlongs just under a fortnight ago.

McGuinness said: "I thought the handicapper was a bit harsh on him, although I could be wrong. The horse is in good form and has a nice draw.

"It looks a bit more competitive than last time but we're expecting a big run."

Miss Mirabeau and Getgo (8.00)

Both three-year-olds are recent arrivals at Keith Clarke's Co Meath yard and will be having their first runs in Ireland.

Miss Mirabeau was acquired for 12,000gns in Newmarket this month, four days after scoring for Sir Mark Prescott at Chelmsford, while Getgo, a Brighton winner for David Lanigan last year, was bought for 9,000gns last month.

Clarke said on Wednesday: "We're still learning about Miss Mirabeau. She isn't the most straightforward but she seems to have loads of ability and hopefully she'll show some of it tomorrow.

"We like Getgo. He won a mile-and-a-half schooling race recently and he's one that will be going hurdling later on."
