'I think he should be favourite' - Silvestre de Sousa joins our expert panel
Tom Collins, Richard Hoiles and Nick Watts also answer the key questions
Who wins the Irish 2,000 Guineas?
Tom Collins, Racing Post tipsterThere are much better punting opportunities on Saturday than this tight-knit affair, but I’m keen to watch the market regarding the Aidan O’Brien-trained Wembley and Battleground. Both stand out on their juvenile form but failed to fire at Newmarket on their reappearances. Wembley is the most interesting if he is back to his best.
Silvestre de Sousa, top jockeyI always feel the British 2,000 Guineas is a stronger race than the French or Irish versions, and Newmarket third Lucky Vega would be the one to take out of that. I think he should be favourite.
Jamie Hart, TotePoetic Flare was unsuited by the slow early pace and sprint finish at Longchamp. You can strike a line through that. Despite the stop-start passage he still finished his race nicely, but as a result of that sixth place we’re being treated to double the price he would have been had he come here direct from Newmarket. The Rosstafarian is my outsider to watch.
