Trainer quotes for the first two televised ITV4 contests at Kempton . . .

1.10 Kempton: Ladbrokes Where The Nation Plays Handicap Chase

Nicky Henderson, trainer of Theinval and Pistol Whipped
Theinval's been around for yonks of course and is a horse who comes into his own in the spring, preferably on fast ground. He takes a hell of a lot of work, but will enjoy his day out. Pistol Whipped has been off for a while but there's been nothing wrong. He's just taken a bit of getting ready, but he's ready now and I like him. I'm looking forward to running him.

1.45: Ladbrokes Committed To Safer Gambling Handicap Chase

Kim Bailey, trainer of Two For Gold
After just a handful of runs over fences he just wasn't ready for a race like the Ladbrokes Trophy last time, because the ground was too quick for him and they went flat out from the start. I wasn't sure he would stay either, but three miles at Kempton will be fine. I'm very happy with him.

Venetia Williams, trainer of Commodore
He has run two good races so far this season, although the conditions at Kempton are likely to be considerably more lively, which won't be in his favour. He's in good order and we've lost so much racing recently, while there are so few opportunities for horses like him that you have to run even if things aren't necessarily entirely in their favour.

Nigel Twiston-Davies, trainer of Rocco
It was a good run when he was second over 2m4f at Kempton last time and I think the extra half mile will be in his favour.

Tom George, trainer of Double Shuffle
He hadn’t had a proper run for a long time and I think he’ll have come on for his last race. It’s probably coming a week sooner than ideal, but what makes up for it is this is a track we know he enjoys and he’s in great form. We have to take every opportunity we can with him at Kempton.
