'He's due to win a big one' - who is the big fancy of top jockey Adrian Heskin?
The bet365 Morebattle Hurdle is the big betting race at Kelso. Who wins?
Adrian Heskin, jockey Metier. He excels on soft and the overnight rain on Thursday should make conditions ideal for him. Buveur D'Air is obviously the class horse of the race, but it's his first start of the season and he'll do well to concede 7lb to Metier on testing ground. I think Metier has a great chance.
Gareth Topham, commentator With a fair bit of rain forecast in the run up to the race, I think conditions will turn favourable for the Harry Fry-trained Metier, who travelled really well before fending off a tough horse in Gowel Road at Lingfield last time. He's still only a six-year-old and represents an in-form stable.
Adrian Wall, MyRacing Plenty of rain is forecast between now and race time so it is hard to look past Metier. He was a Grade 1 winner over hurdles as a novice and was sent off at 11-2 for the Supreme Novices' Hurdle at the festival last season. Fourth to Tritonic at Ascot in December, he won comfortably at Lingfield off 139 in January and a rating in the 140s underestimates his true ability.
