Sir Mark Prescott is famed for running up sequences with his team, but Flyawaydream's is an unwanted one.

The lightly raced three-year-old has finished second on four of his five outings and he was below his best when a beaten 5-4 favourite on his first start at this track, over course and distance, three weeks ago.

He was readily brushed aside by Plastic Paddy on that occasion and will need to improve to defy a 2lb higher mark. However, there is little doubt he is open to further progress.

Course specialists aplenty line up in opposition. Lila Girl has won three of her four starts here, while Almaan is another who seems to like the Essex air, having scored on two of his four outings.

Almaan is only 1lb higher than when successful over course and distance in January and he has been in decent form since, with his last win coming at Newmarket in June. That came under Christian Howarth, who is back on board claiming 5lb here.

The final word goes to Brunel Charm who, like many from the Richard Hughes yard, appears to like it at Chelmsford. A £1 bet on all runners from the Hughes stable at this course in the last five seasons would have yielded a profit of £70.58.

What they say

Richard Spencer, trainer of Big Narstie
It was a bit firm for him to run on the turf through summer so we gave him a break and he’s ready to start rolling again. He likes the all-weather but he can be a bit in and out.

Henry Spiller, trainer of Crack Regiment and Almaan
Crack Regiment hated running at Newmarket last time after which he came back jarred up and we’ve given him some time. He’s been working really well of late and we expect a big run. Almaan goes well at the track and we gave him a break after he failed to stay ten furlongs at Newmarket last time. He goes well for Christian Howarth although his wide draw is not helpful.

Phil McEntee, trainer of Ostilio
He’s a better turf horse than all-weather but there isn’t a lot else for him at the moment, although he's getting down to a playable mark.

Joe Parr, trainer of Roman Dynasty
He’s back from a break and whatever he does here he’ll improve on as he’ll need the run.

Harry Davies, rider of Far Away Thoughts
He won first time out as a two-year-old last year so goes well fresh. Hopefully he can take a hand in a competitive race.

Thore Hammer Hansen, rider of Flyawaydream
He’s always worked like a nice horse and has been bumping into one of late but is the model of consistency. He’s well drawn and hopefully can get his head back in front.

Michael Bell, trainer of Lila Girl
She’s back at her happy hunting ground where she's unbeaten. She had a poor draw at Kempton last time which didn’t help her cause but she is better berthed here and we expect her to be very competitive.

Sean Woods, trainer of Francesi
He’s run very well at Chelmsford before and he’s been in good form at home of late. He likes to sit handy so he’s well drawn in stall one.

Chris Dwyer, trainer of Canters Well
He’s been off a long time but he’s been going well at home and I expect him to have a decent each-way shout in a competitive race.
