'He'll be hard to beat' - our panel on the Sandown card and who to watch in 2021
Who wins the Unibet Tolworth Hurdle?
Tom Bellamy, jockey Michael Scudamore’s Do Your Job looks a chaser in the making, but the way he goes about things makes me
think the stiff Sandown track will suit him. He should make amends for getting beaten in a Listed race at Haydock last time.
Jamie Hart, Tote The favourite will be hard to beat, but I liked the way Grandeur D’Ame stayed on up the hill at Cheltenham last time. He’s a nervy sort so the lack of crowds works in his favour, he’s proven on heavy ground and could surprise at a decent price on his hurdling debut.
James Hill, tipster I like what I’ve seen from Metier, but he hasn’t beaten much and for a Grade 1 he’s too short. It’s not the best Tolworth and I’m not enthused by the opposition so will probably sit this one out. It’s interesting Oliver Sherwood is throwing Grandeur D’Ame into a Grade 1 on his hurdles debut. He has a nice attitude, but any each-way edge has gone now we’re down to seven runners.
