'He should be thereabouts' - conditions set to suit Camusdarach

Eight go to post for this competitive nursery, with a number of runners holding more obvious chances based on all-weather form.
Camusdarach and Lady Wormsley have recent solid form over the course and distance, the latter running well to finish three-quarters of a length behind Monty Man last month.
Trainer Richard Fahey is operating at a 22 per cent strike-rate in the last fortnight and is represented by Royal Cay. David O’Meara is another in-form trainer and he runs Bara Lacha, who is on a retrieval mission after being turned over at 1-2 on her last start at Redcar in August.
‘I’d like to think he’d be competitive’
Joint-trainer Charlie Johnston believes Camusdarach can show improvement as he bids to break his maiden at the fourth attempt.
The two-year-old, who is the son of 2,000 Guineas winner Footstepsinthesand, showed his best form when second at Lingfield last month.
"He should be thereabouts I hope," Johnston said. "He ran well at Lingfield last week and was just run out of it close to home.
"He also ran pretty well in a novice behind a couple of useful-looking horses over course and distance before that.
"It’s his first time into a handicap, conditions should suit him and I’d like to think he’d be competitive off his mark of 70."
What they say
James Fanshawe, trainer of Lady Wormsley
She’s consistent and ran very well on her recent start at the track. She came up against a couple of tougher horses but she’s suited by the distance.
Iain Jardine, trainer of Sprezzatura
He probably wants a bit further but I can’t see anything over the extended distances for him at the moment. I think a stiff seven furlongs will suit him and the standard to slow going will also help. We’ll give it a go and hopefully he can run a big race. He’s definitely a horse who can improve a bit.
David O’Meara, trainer of Bara Lacha
She’s not run for a while but she’s fine and is in good form. The step up in trip to seven furlongs will be grand as she’s run over that before.
