Punters believe the Investec Oaks (4.30) is a battle between the well-fancied Mehdaayih and Pink Dogwood as their nearest challengers continue to drift in the betting.

The John Gosden-trained Mehdaayih briefly became favourite with some firms putting her as short as 9-4, but Pink Dogwood has returned to the head of the market and is currently a 9-4 chance.

The support for the favourites has seen Maqsad drift from 9-2 to 6-1 and Gosden's other runner, Anapurna, increase from 6-1 to 7-1.

The market in the Coronation Cup (3.10) remains steady with Kew Gardens favourite, while the biggest negative of the day is War Glory (5.50), who has drifted from a 5-1 favourite out to as high as 7-1.

The official going at Epsom is currently good, good to firm in places with a GoingStick reading of 7.4.

Andrew Cooper, clerk of the course at Epsom, said this morning: "It has been dry overnight and the going is good, good to firm in places, but it is very much good in the main, with just bits on the quicker side.

"The weather is overcast at the moment, but is meant to brighten up later. It is again forecast to be dry tonight, with a hot, dry day tomorrow.

"We are bound to consider watering this evening, but whether we will do or not is a decision we won't make until at some point this afternoon, which may be after racing."
