Steel Of Madrid has plenty to live up to in today’s International Bosphorus Cup at Veliefendi in Turkey, not just as favourite for the £132,000 Group 2 race.

The three-year-old - 15-8 market leader with Sky Bet - has also taken up residence in the same box from which Richard Hannon-trained winners emerged in the last two years at the two-day international meeting, which is sponsored by Longines for the first time this year.

Toormore and Producer won the Topkapi Trophy in 2015 and 2013 respectively, while in 2014 Pether’s Moon won the Bosphorus Cup - a race trainers in Britain have won for six of the last seven years.
