Grand National 2019: tips from Racing Post experts for the second day of Aintree
North: Colin Russell
Indian Temple (4.05 Aintree, nap)
Jumped and travelled well but didn't get home on the testing ground when seventh in the race 12 months ago. The ground should suit him and with cheekpieces now back on is expected to fare even better this time.
Others to follow
Aintree: 1.45 Joke Dancer, 2.50 Top Ville Ben, 3.25 Waiting Patiently, 5.15 Ebony Jewel.
Leicester: 2.00 Mr Fudge, 2.30 Chains Of Love, 3.05 Fox Fearless, 3.40 Showroom, 4.15 Kupa River, 4.50 Star Shield, 5.25 Oasis Prince, 5.55 Elixsoft.
Sedgefield: 2.10 Mac Cennetig, 2.40 Graceland, 3.15 Two Hoots, 3.50 Enfin Phil, 4.25 Chasma, 5.00 Houndscourt, 5.35 Chanceanotherfive.
Wolverhampton: 5.30 Mystical Moon, 6.30 Diviner, 7.00 Copper Rose, 8.00 Dabouk.
Lambourn: James Burn
O O Seven (4.05 Aintree, nap)
Conditions should suit this smart nine-year-old, who ran respectably in this race – one trainer Nicky Henderson does well in – two years ago. He is 1lb lower this time around and looks poised for a bold bid over what is probably his best trip.
Others to follow
Aintree: 1.45 Kobrouk, 2.20 Precious Cargo, 2.50 Mr Whipped, 3.25 Top Notch, 4.40 Emitom, 5.15 Thebannerkingrebel.
Leicester: 2.00 Six Gun, 2.30 Beleaguerment, 3.05 Landa Beach, 3.40 Inn The Bull, 4.15 Vixen, 5.25 Saikung, 5.55 Cheerfilly.
Sedgefield: 3.50 Alrightjack.
Wolverhampton: 6.30 Engrossed, 7.00 Ballylemon, 7.30 Sula Island, 8.00 Rhossili Down.
West Country: Andrew King
Adrien Du Pont (4.05 Aintree, nap)
Has been a fairly sound jumper in the past so he should be suited by this test and he can regain the winning thread.
Others to follow
Aintree: 1.45 Brie Conti, 2.20 Winston C, 2.50 Topofthegame, 3.25 Politilogue, 5.15 McFabulous.
Sedgefield: 3.50 Dead Right, 5.35 Point N Shoot.
Racing Post Ratings: Steve Mason
Itchy Feet (2.20 Aintree, nap)
The form of his Supreme Novices' Hurdle third was given a nice boost when the fourth was just touched off here yesterday and a repeat performance should see him resume winning ways.
Topspeed: Dave Edwards
Champ (4.40 Aintree)
Had his wings clipped when runner-up at Cheltenham but can go one better over this longer trip.
Longshot: Sam Hardy
Top Notch (3.25 Aintree)
Champion trainer Nicky Henderson has won this three times and his admirable charge will be suited by the flat track having beaten Black Corton by five lengths at Kempton in January.
Ireland: Tony O'Hehir
Valentina Lady (7.20 Wexford)
The Paul Nolan-trained five-year-old performed well on debut in a mares' bumper at Naas last month when second to Gypsy Island. Without the hood she wore on that occasion, the daughter of Oscar gets the vote to score under Barry O'Neill.
Newmarket: David Milnes
Stealth Fighter ( 4.50 Leicester, nap)
Saeed Bin Suroor’s gelding goes well fresh and is fit from recent work on Racecourse Side.
Others to follow
Leicester: 2.00 Foad, 3.49 Dagueneau. 4.15 Robero, 5.25 San Sebastián.
Wolverhampton: 6.00 Cosmic Landscape, 6.30 Isango, 7.00 Noble Lineage, 7.30 Birch Grove, 8.00 A Hundred Echoes.

All of the last six winners of the Mildmay Novices' Chase had posted a top-two finish at the Cheltenham Festival, with two of them filling the runner-up spot in the JLT Novices' Chase. Lostintranslation finished an honourable second to Defi Du Seuil this year and looks a big player over this trip at 2.50.
