Good going at York for final day of the Ebor festival
Racing on the final day of the Ebor meeting is set to take place on ground officially described as good after a dry night.
Conditions had been on the soft side since the downpours before the meeting started on Wednesday, but the change to good ground was made after the last race on Friday.
Clerk of the course William Derby said: "We're good all round - it quickened up as Friday afternoon went on.
"We'll be on fresh ground from the nine-furlong start to the entrance to the home straight."
Racing on Betfred Ebor day gets under way at 1.55pm and Derby said: "We've avoided the possible early shower and it should be dry from now on in, with temperatures up to 20C and a sunny afternoon in store."
The official GoingStick reading at 8am this morning was 7.1, while in the home straight the readings marginally varied as follows - far side 7.1, centre 7.1 and stands' side 7.0.
