Exciting juveniles Monarch Of Egypt and Siskin clash in Railway Stakes thriller

With 13 wins to his credit in this event Aidan O'Brien needs one more victory to equal Vincent O'Brien's record for the race and he has bright prospects with Monarch Of Egypt and Fort Myers representing him.
However, the presence of the Ger Lyons-trained Siskin, who has won both starts in the style of an exciting two-year-old, adds plenty of spice to an intriguing contest.
Monarch Of Egypt, a son of American Pharoah, created a good impression when scoring on his debut at Naas in April while Fort Myers finished fourth behind stablemate Arizona in the Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot last week.
O'Brien, whose winners of the race include subsequent Classic winners King Of Kings, Rock Of Gibraltar, George Washington and Mastercraftsman, said: "Monarch Of Egypt had a setback after winning at Naas and that ruled out Ascot. He's just ready to start back and while we're happy with him he should come on plenty for the run.
"Fort Myers has shown good form and more experience than Monarch Of Egypt. He ran very well at Ascot and seems to have come out of the race well. He's a good hardy sort."
Both of Siskin's have been achieved over this six-furlong trip and he landed the Listed Marble Hill Stakes at this course in fine style last month.
Issuing an upbeat bulletin, Lyons said: "Siskin is in great shape. He could have gone to Ascot last week but the powers that be tell me the faster the ground the better for him. He is very, very straightforward and the drying forecast should mean he'll have beautiful ground."
The Kevin Ryan-trained Romero, who won over five furlongs on his debut at Doncaster, will be attempting to become the first British-trained winner of the race since Formosina scored for Jeremy Noseda in 2010.
Adam Ryan, assistant to the trainer, said: "He won nicely over five on debut and will improve a lot for the run and the experience. He was very powerful at the line so the six furlongs should suit but it looks a good renewal of the race."
Completing the line-up is the Ger O'Leary-trained Real Force, a winner over the minimum trip and now dropping back in distance after finishing fourth over seven furlongs at Leopardstown nine days ago.
