Harrington has two chances of blowing away rivals again in Blue Wind Stakes
2.40 Naas
Irish Stallion Farms EBF Blue Wind Stakes | 1m2f | Group 3 | 3yo+ | RTV
Shane Foley got a great tune out of One Voice in this event last year, swooping late to melt Snow, and she went on to get within a neck of Fancy Blue in the Group 1 Nassau Stakes. This time around One Voice's trainer Jessica Harrington is doubly represented and likely to be responsible for the favourite in Silence Please.
She is 5lb clear on official ratings and chasing home Tiger Month in a Group 3 at Leopardstown last autumn looks very strong form in the context of this race. Indeed, she also boasts a victory over One Voice in a Listed race at Navan.
The track, trip and ground should be ideal and she won first time out last year, so the 238-day absence is not a massive concern.
Harrington's other runner is Thurles maiden winner Sacred Rhyme, who is unexposed and promising but lacks the rock-solid form of her stablemate.
Dermot Weld has a terrific record in this race. He won it in 2019 with Tarnawa and in 2016 with Zhukova, while Tarfasha [2014] and Princess Highway [2012] also did the business for the master of Rosewell House. It is noteworthy that he relies on Emaniya.
She won a mile maiden at Cork on the bridle, where she had the 95-rated Divinely back in fourth. Forget her next start in a Group 3 at the Curragh. She almost came down after coming out of the stalls. It was a nightmare from start to finish.
Emaniya is unquestionably better than the bare form of that and might prove to be the value alternative to Silence Please.
What they say
Jessica Harrington, trainer of Silence Please and Sacred Rhyme
Silence Please is a bigger, stronger filly this year. She's done very well. Hopefully they won't get too much rain at Naas as the better the ground is the better the chance she has. I was delighted with Sacred Rhyme the other day at Navan. She was still a bit green but she ran a big race and I think she'll come on for it. I would be hopeful for a big run from her.
James Barrett, trainer of Dearg Jazz
She's in great form and seems to have come forward nicely from her run at Navan. On ratings she deserves to take her chance. I'm not saying she's going to win or anything like that but I do think she'll run well. We'd love to get a bit of black type with her.
Dermot Weld, trainer of Emaniya
She's a very nice filly and I expect her to run well. There is rain forecast but I wouldn't want to see too much of it hitting Naas.
