Getabird set to fly in Champion Novice Hurdle
Exclusive insight from Ireland's champion trainer every day at Punchestown
Getabird returns from a break in the Grade 1 Dooley Insurance Group Champion Novice Chase (6.40) over 3m½f. He's done well at Punchestown in the past, winning there over hurdles and fences. It will be his first time going three miles and it looks a hot race with A Plus Tard and Delta Work among his rivals. Having not run since December he should be fresh and we're hoping he'll finish in the money.
We run four in the 2m handicap hurdle (4.55) in which Buildmeupbuttercup, Dolciano Dici and Sancta Simona will be running in a handicap for the first time.
Buildmeupbuttercup wasn't up to the task in the mares' Grade 1 won by Honeysuckle at Fairyhouse, but this will be a different test and it wouldn't surprise me if she was in the shake-up with Ruby [Walsh] in the saddle.
