Stradivarius out to 6-4 as Cross Counter and Dee Ex Bee supported for Gold Cup
Stradivarius has been weak in the betting in his quest for a second Gold Cup with Bjorn Nelson's star stayer drifting out to 6-4 (from 6-5) for Thursday's feature race.
Support in the market has come for Melbourne Cup winner Cross Counter, who is 7-2 (from 4) while Mark Johnston's Dee Ex Bee has shortened from 6-1 into 5-1.
The remainder of the field has been pretty steady, although Called To The Bar has shortened into 16-1 (from 20).
In the Norfolk Stakes, the opening race at 2.30, Irish raider Sunday Sovereign is strong in the market at a general 7-4 (from 2). His victory over Arizona was boosted with that rival winning Tuesday's Coventry Stakes.
The other Group 2, the Ribblesdale Stakes, has seen little movement in the betting with Fleeting a 6-4 favourite, although support has come for John Gosden's outsider Fanny Logan who is 16-1 (from 18).
Barristan The Bold is the big mover in the 31-runner Britannia Handicap with the mount of Richard Kingscote being cut from 28-1 into 20-1. There has also been support for King Ademar (8-1 from 11), Aweedram (14 from 16) and Davydenko (10 from 12).
In the closing King George V handicap Constantinople has drifted out to 11-2 from 4-1, with the William Haggas-trained Sinjaari backed into 9-2 (from 6).
