Classic hope Escobar bids to lord it over promising rivals

Unbeaten Escobar has his Classic credentials put to the test when he takes on seven other previous winners in a strong renewal of the Group 3 traditionally known as the Somerville Tattersall Stakes.
Hugo Palmer’s colt won a maiden at Newbury in July and followed up in the Listed Washington Singer Stakes last month. He is currently a 25-1 chance for both the Qipco 2,000 Guineas and the Investec Derby, and at those odds is third favourite in some lists for the Epsom Classic. However, Palmer feels he might have too much speed for a mile and a half.
