They say a week is a long time in politics, but it's an expression that frequently gets rehashed by racing people too – and it is certainly apt to apply it to a game that can be so fickle and volatile but also so downright riveting. Maybe racing is politics for sports people.
History tells us Winston Churchill identified the threat of extreme nationalist ideologies before most, and he didn’t stop until Hitler’s notion of the master race was finally crushed.
At a time when insular mindsets are prevalent the world over, it is fitting a horse of such enormous promise should arrive carrying the name Churchill.
