Cayenne Pepper out to continue Jessica Harrington's red-hot run with juveniles
Cayenne Pepper will attempt to advance Jessica Harrington’s excellent season with her two-year-old fillies when she puts her unbeaten record on the line in the Group 3 Flame Of Tara Stakes (4.50), a race her trainer won with Jack Naylor in 2014.
A daughter of Australia, Cayenne Pepper won on her debut at Leopardstown before following up over 7½f at Tipperary, and Harrington said: "She had a break after her Tipperary win and is in good form. We think that stepping up to a mile should suit her well."
Also tackling the trip for the first time is So Wonderful, a six-race maiden who delivered her best performance when a staying-on fourth behind the Harrington-trained Alpine Star in the Group 2 Debutante Stakes over 7f at this track last week.
Her trainer Aidan O’Brien said: "She seems in good form and we think she's progressing and that the extra distance might suit."
Joseph O’Brien is represented by maiden winners A New Dawn, who is returning from a break following a disappointing effort at Group 2 level in June, and Brook On Fifth, who made a successful debut over 7f at this course two weeks ago. O'Brien said: "Both of them are on a black-type mission and seem in good form."
The Ger Lyons-trained Auxilia, a five-length winner over seven furlongs at Naas early this month, Richard O’Brien’s Killarney winner Lougher and Dermot Weld’s twice-raced maiden Azila complete the field of seven runners.
Harrington is hoping that Trethias can bounce back from a disappointing display in the Irish Oaks last month when she faces 11 rivals in the Group 3 Snow Fairy Fillies Stakes (6.20), in which I'm So Fancy gave Harrington a third win in the race 12 months ago.
Trethias trailed in last of eight in the Curragh Classic having booked her place in the line-up when landing the Naas Oaks Trial. Harrington said: "Trethias had a wind problem when she ran in the Irish Oaks and we think we have that rectified. The nine-furlong trip is a bit short of ideal but she's in good form."
An impressive ten-length winner at Leopardstown on her second start last summer, Goddess has failed to build on the promise she showed on that occasion but there were encouraging signs last time when she landed the Listed Hurry Harriet Stakes at Gowran Park 16 days ago.
Her trainer Aidan O'Brien is also represented by Simply Beautiful and Credenza as he seeks a fifth win in the event. He said: "Goddess came out of her Gowran race well. She won nicely there and we think she is progressing. Simply Beautiful is tough and hardy and we think there is better to come from her. We're dropping her back in trip and think the shorter trip might also suit Credenza."
Viadera, winner of the Listed Cairn Rouge Stakes at Killarney on her most recent start, represents Ger Lyons, while Jim Bolger runs Solage, who won well on her Irish debut at Gowran Park in April.
Dean Street Doll, who showed smart form early in the season, represents Richard O'Brien while Dermot Weld, last successful with Carla Bianca in 2014, runs Mia Maria, winner of a mile maiden over the course on her second start last month.
