Return to better ground could help Battleoverdoyen get back to form

Christmas return for owners? AIRO have lobbied HRI for owners to be classified as essential

4.20 Fairyhouse
Devenish Chase (Grade 2) | 2m4f | 5yo+ | ITV4/RTE2/RTV

Battleoverdoyen began the season in style. He won a Grade 2 at Down Royal in the manner of a second-season novice who was going to take the season by storm.

Since then he has disappointed in the John Durkan and behind Allaho at Thurles. He has serious questions to answer after those tame efforts.

Easy Game is always interesting in these sort of heats. He has two Grade 2 wins on his CV and was in the process of running well when coming down two out in the aforementioned Thurles contest won by Allaho.

Stamina would have to be a concern for Castlegrace Paddy who seems best over the minimum trip.

What they say

Denise Foster, trainer of Battleoverdoyen
He's been struggling on winter ground and we have a feeling a return to better ground might help. We know he's good enough when he's on his game and we're all hoping he can bounce back to form here. He's proved in the past what a good horse he is.

David Casey, assistant trainer of Easy Game and Annamix
Easy Game has been crying out for a bit of nicer ground. It should suit him. Annamix won his beginners chase around Fairyhouse and going back there on nicer ground will help him.

Jessica Harrington, trainer of Sizing Pottsie
He has some good form to his name and likes Fairyhouse too so hopefully he can bounce back to form with a good run here.
