The title of winningmost horse of the all-weather season is set to go down to the wire on a thrilling final day of the campaign, with Khatm and Spring Romance making late bids to topple current leader Nortonthorpe Boy.

The last-named, trained by Phil McEntee, is tied with Khatm on six victories but noses ahead owing to his superior number of placed efforts over the season, with Spring Romance one of five horses back on five wins.

Although Nortonthorpe Boy has no further entries, Khatm, who won at Wolverhampton on Tuesday night, is declared to run again at Chelmsford on Friday where he must win or finish second to land the £10,000 prize.
