Anthony Honeyball and Josh Apiafi preview the weekend's action
Keith Melrose, Maddy Playle and Alan Reilly give their thoughts
Who would be your choice in the Classic Chase at Warwick?
Josh Apiafi, broadcaster I quite like Impulsive Star, who won the race last year. I fancy him to make it back-to-back wins off just a 4lb higher mark. He’s blinkered for the first time which could well bring out the required improvement.
Anthony Honeyball, trainer The most likely winner is probably Kimberlite Candy. He’s up 3lb for his excellent run in the Becher Chase and is trying to win the race his half-brother Hawkes Point won five years ago. I think he probably needs to go up a few pounds to get into the National.
Keith Melrose, betting editor Any of the runners could conceivably put up the performance of their life and finish third, so it is a race in which to go for the solid option each-way. For me that is Crosspark, who has made the frame in the last two runnings. He won the Eider and was second in the Scottish National after finishing third at Warwick last year and I can well believe his first two runs this season were building up to a return here.
