Anthony Ennis and Jamie Snowden give their views on the weekend action
Keith Melrose, Graeme Rodway and Matt Trounce also have their say
Whose side are you on – Defi Du Seuil or Un De Sceaux?
Anthony Ennis, broadcaster I’m 100 per cent with Defi Du Seuil. I know Un De Sceaux has been a great warrior, but he’s had a lot of bruising encounters on very deep ground. I think time will catch up with him eventually and it might show today. Defi hasn’t had the credit he deserves for his wins – he’s such a tough battler, he answers every call and I think he will take it.
Keith Melrose, betting editor The question for Defi Du Seuil is less about stamina, more about whether he will have a) enough time to reel in Un De Sceaux and b) not too long in front so as to throw it away again. I think Ascot caters to both of those demands better than Sandown, so I’d be of the view that he will do it again so long as he handles really deep ground.
Graeme Rodway, tipster I don’t have a firm opinion either way. If Defi Du Seuil has improved again from Sandown he should confirm the places with Un De Sceaux, but testing conditions on this stiffer track will suit the Irish challenger. At the prices I’d have to back Un De Sceaux to get his revenge.
