Angel needs help from above if she is to shine once again
Rain may not be popular among those dressed in their finery at York this afternoon but it would be welcomed by Michael Dods.
The trainer will not run Mecca's Angel in the Coolmore Nunthorpe Stakes unless he reckons there is sufficient give underfoot to let her take her chance.
His mare excels on a soft surface and the ground was officially good to soft when she famously overhauled US star Acapulco to take this prize 12 months ago.
