Going news, punting pointers and video features – all in one place
Much is made at this point in the year of the ever-warming jumps season, less so of the fond farewells to the Flat for another winter's hibernation.
It is Brighton today that will open its doors to racegoers for the final time in 2018, staging an understated eight-race card that begins at 1.30 in order to fit it all in before autumn's shorter days put a stop to play on the south coast for the year.
Uttoxeter and Carlisle bring the more typical autumn action, with six- and eight-race jumps cards respectively. Tramore joins in the jumping action in the afternoon.

Final thought
Declarations for British Champions Day will be known later this morning. Roaring Lion looks more likely to run in the QEII but if he runs in the Champion Stakes it could well end up as the most open renewal of the Champions Day era.
