All you need for an action-packed afternoon of racing
With the Breeders' Cup and some fine jump racing this weekend edging ever closer, Thursday's busy fare keeps the racing week ticking over nicely and boasts some good quality of its own.
The all-weather card at Lingfield features two Listed contests, the EBF Fleur De Lys Fillies' Stakes (2.35) and the EBF River Eden Fillies' Stakes (3.05), with two further all-weather meetings taking place at Wolverhampton and Newcastle in the evening.
Clonmel hosts the sole Irish fixture, with Sedgefield and Stratford running a jumps card apiece. Smart hurdler Thomas Campbell makes his chasing debut for Nicky Henderson at the latter venue (1.40).
There are plenty of British representatives chasing Group 1 glory in Munich (1.15), including the Roger Varian-trained Defoe, who has yet to win at the highest level. Saeed Bin Suroor's Racing History and Derby runner-up Dee Ex Bee are among those in opposition for the Group 1 Grosser Preis von Bayern.

What to back
Paul Kealy has picked out three bets from a busy day of racing, including two from the all-weather meeting at Lingfield.
With six meetings in Britain and Ireland, perhaps the best way to decide who to back is to see our regional experts best selections, which you can find in the daily Tips Box.
What to read
Just days after it was revealed Samcro would be aimed at the Champion Hurdle, Willie Mullins has revealed his plan to send Laurina down the same path. Read the latest on the exciting mare here.
If you would still rather give the Flat your full attention, why not read about the ghosts of Breeders' Cup past, as Enable stands on the cusp of history.
What to watch
With Thistlecrack possibly making his seasonal reappearance on Saturday at Wetherby, watch Joe Tizzard provide an update on him and Cheltenham Gold Cup hero Native River.
Elsewhere, Willie Mullins spoke with David Jennings about a number of his stable stars, including Footpad, Un De Sceaux and Faugheen.
The best of Racing Post Sport
The weekly Golf Postcast is available now, with Steve Palmer and Iain McLaughlin providing an expert take on The Turkish Airlines Open and The Shriners Hospitals For Children Open.
It is also the final week of the ATP season before the Tour Finals begin, and Adrian Humphries believes one player already qualified for the Tour Finals will have a tough match in Paris today. Read his preview and chosen selection here.
Final thought
Defoe was unlucky to be narrowly denied by Saeed Bin Suroor's Best Solution in a Group 1 in Germany earlier in the season, so it would be nice to see the classy four-year-old get his head in front in a big one.
