All you need to know on a fantastic Friday of racing across Britain and Ireland
The first of the two-day King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes meeting begins at Ascot with quality all through Friday's seven-race card. The Valiant Stakes (3.35), a Listed race over a mile, is the feature with the Queen's Magnetic Charm the favourite.
There is also Listed action at York with the Lyric Fillies' Stakes staged at 7.30. The highly promising Frankellina, sixth in the Oaks, takes on the unbeaten Kirstenbosch in an intriguing event.
On a busy but quality day of action there is racing also from Uttoxeter, Thirsk, Newmarket and Chepstow while the pick of the Irish action is at Down Royal.
