After the high drama of Saturday's Irish Oaks, the Curragh again has the main card on Sunday, with a pair of Group 2s headlining the eight-race card.

It is also a strong day in France, with the Prix Robert Papin, another Group 2, set to take place at 1.35.

Tipperary backs up the Curragh in Ireland, while in Britain Redcar is the sole Flat meeting alongside Newton Abbot and Stratford over jumps.

What to read

There has been some big runner news for the King George, which takes place next Saturday.

There was also something of an apparition, with Hurst Park's parade ring appearing as a result of the recent dry weather.

What to watch

Today will mark the end of an era, as Des Scahill calls a race in Ireland for the last time. He spoke to Tony O'Hehir.

The best of Racing Post Sport

The Tour De France today involves a category one climb followed by a 40km dash to the finish in Carcassone. Nick Pulford previews stage 15.

It is also German Grand Prix day at Hockenheim.

Final thought

The obvious comparison for the retiring Des Scahill is with Sir Peter O'Sullevan. One imagines it will similarly take a year or two to get used to a different voice accompanying Ireland's biggest races.
