Betway Summer Handicap Hurdle | 2m½f | 3yo+ | ITV4/RTV

Olly Murphy seems a man going places in a hurry and the trainer wasted little time getting off the mark when the new jumps season started at Southwell last week, saddling a sizzling four-timer.

He followed that up with another winner at Uttoxeter on Monday and takes dual aim at this prize – downgraded from Listed level – as summer jumping muscles in on ITV4's coverage of Newmarket's July meeting.

Valentino Dancer was fifth off 1lb higher in the race 12 months ago, while Fiesole's chance is not dismissed even though he shoulders 10lb more than his stablemate.

Both have had recent warm-up races on the Flat and Murphy said: "They have each-way chances. When Fiesole turns up he's a good horse in this grade and is well capable of winning a nice handicap again.

"I'm looking forward to running him. He hasn't run over hurdles for a while but is in good form. If they go a good gallop, which you imagine they should in this race, he could be coming home strongly. I've put cheekpieces on him for the first time.

"Valentino Dancer is very well in himself and was progressive last season, running well in this race 12 months ago. He might just be improving."

Key stat

Emma Lavelle has been red hot since jumping resumed, saddling four winners from just seven runners, yielding a £17.50 profit from a £1 level stake. She runs Highly Prized, who started his career with Juddmonte and Lady Cecil before winning in the States and then returning to Britain to go hurdling.

What they say

Harry Skelton, rider of Fair Mountain
He was quite fresh at Royal Ascot in the Ascot Stakes, but that run will hopefully put him right. He's been schooling and working well since and looks to have a nice chance.

Alan King, trainer of Dino Velvet
He seems in good order and was third at Southwell last week. I'm hoping he'll be competitive.

Emma Lavelle, trainer of Highly Prized
I'd like to hope our form will continue, but it looks a decent race for this time of year. I'm very happy with him and I think the track and the way races are run there will suit him. Everything is good with him at home; it's just if he's still on a mark that gives him a chance in a race like this.

Paul Nicholls, trainer of Red Force One
He had a nice run on the Flat the other day in prep for this and ran okay, but he wouldn't want any more rain.

Richard Newland, trainer of Nordican Bleue
It was out of character when she refused to race last time in October and hopefully it won't happen again, but you never quite know with these mares. Otherwise, she's quite nice. I think she's got the ability to go further if she's in the right mood.
