All the going news, market moves and tips from a drying York

It is rare that the Juddmonte International acts to set the stage for the Yorkshire Oaks, but watch back the King George and look at that filly flashing away from Ulysses.

Enable is out again, staking more than she stands to win if the odds are to be believed in the day's feature race at 3.35. With all due respect, she has already beaten much better than she faces today and only a sparkling victory will do if she's to tighten her grip on the Arc betting.

It is a day for the fillies as the other Group race is the Lowther, which looks notably competitive between the Pattern-race proven Actress, Happy Like A Fool and Madeline, as well as a couple of unbeaten upstarts from lower grades.

There is also the Goffs Premier Yearling Sales, closely associated with some of the savviest trainers of nippy two-year-olds, such as Richard Hannon, Richard Fahey and Kevin Ryan. All have live contenders once again.

The ground has been changed to good to soft, good in places (from good to soft, soft in places) and following the downpours on day one, the weather has improved with a dry outlook and sunny spells forecast.

Clerk of the course William Derby had already walked the track twice by 9am and said: "It is now good to soft, good in places. It was dry overnight and it is 20C now, it is a drying morning.

"The good parts are from the six-furlong to the three-furlong [pole] on the straight and round the north bend but I expect the good places will grow."

The best of Racing Post Sport

The Northern Trust begins in New York and Steve Palmer has previewed the first leg of the FedEx Cup playoffs.

There is also Europa League action, with Everton, featuring a rekindled Wayne Rooney, in action in Croatia.

Final thought

Today possibly decides the Arc favourite either way. If Enable wins with authority, it will be her. If she does not, the chances of John Gosden and co launching Cracksman, promoted to second-favourite in the immediate aftermath of yesterday's Great Voltigeur, into action at Chantilly will naturally increase.
