Albany winner Different League will 'come on a lot' for first O'Brien start
Different League showed serious speed and a good attitude to fend off favourite Alpha Centauri in the Albany Stakes at Royal Ascot last June when in the care of Matthieu Palussiere, and she makes her first start for Aidan O'Brien in the Listed Committed Stakes (2.40).
O'Brien is content to keep Different League over sprint distances for now, but issued a warning to punters who might be tempted to get stuck into the daughter of Dabirsim on her first start as a three-year-old.
He said: "Different League is a lovely filly who we like and it's great to get her started for the season. The only thing I would say is that, while she's ready to run, she'll definitely come on a lot for it."
In the 5½f contest O'Brien is also represented by Norfolk Stakes winner Sioux Nation, who has a mark of 115, and the identically rated Fleet Review, who finished runner-up in the Middle Park Stakes on his final start of the season.
O'Brien said: "Sioux Nation did very well at two and was very good when winning at Royal Ascot. He's ready to start.
"Fleet Review ran a big race in the Middle Park at Newmarket and is a good colt."
1,000 Guineas clues on offer in Salsabil Stakes
Aidan O'Brien has won the 1m2f Salsabil Stakes (4.15) twice in the last four years with Dazzling (2014) and Pretty Perfect (2016), and he launches a three-pronged attack on the Listed prize with Bye Bye Baby, a top price of 40-1 for the Qipco 1,000 Guineas, the mount of Ryan Moore.
O'Brien said: "Ryan rode Bye Bye Baby when she won her maiden at Newmarket last September and he really liked her. She's a nice filly with a future and should run well. We think she'll really appreciate this longer trip."
He said of his other runners: "Sizzling ran a lovely race in the May Hill Stakes at Doncaster last year and has been in good form at home so we're looking forward to getting her back out, while Easter Lily won her maiden nicely at Leopardstown and there's hopefully more to come from her at three."
Course specialist returns to happiest hunting ground
Ross O'Sullivan, out of luck with Baie Des Iles in last Saturday's Grand National, brings the speedy Doonard Prince back to his happiest hunting ground in the 5½f apprentice handicap (3.45).
The nine-year-old has been to Navan six times and his two most recent wins have been at the venue. His form figures at the track read 026121.
