7.00 Wolverhampton: tipster analysis and trainer quotes for the day's highlight

7.00 Wolverhampton

Bombardier Golden Beer Conditions Stakes | 1m½f | 4yo+ | Tapeta | Sky

This race revolves around the readiness of class act Oh This Is Us on his first run since November. The Richard Hannon-trained seven-year-old was beaten only by classy pair Mustashry and Limato when third in the Group 2 Challenge Stakes at Newmarket in October and there is nothing of that quality in this contest in which he finished second last year.

Oh This Is Us has form figures reading 713122 when returning from breaks of at least 74 days, so he has a solid record when fresh.

Another Touch beat Via Serendipity by three-quarters of a length when they met in a mile conditions race at Newcastle last month and is the in-form runner in the field, searching for a four-timer. He is fancied to confirm those places but will almost certainly need to take his form to another level if he is to beat Oh This Is Us.

Tactics could play a part with only seven lining up but there should be plenty of pace on. Salateen often makes the running and should lead them from stall four, while Fox Power (drawn three), Arcanada (two) and Via Serendipity (six) like to be on the speed.

Oh This Is Us has the widest draw in seven but that will not be an issue coming from off the gallop and he shouldn’t be inconvenienced by the way the race is run. He has lots of tactical speed.

What the stats say

Another Touch is unbeaten in three starts on the all-weather during which his rating has rocketed from 92 to 104.

What they say

Richard Fahey, trainer of Another Touch
He's been in great form this winter and we really couldn't be happier with him and with what he's been doing. This is another step up for him again and he'll have to be at his very best, but we're hopeful.

Stuart Williams, trainer of Via Serendipity
He's very well in himself and we're very hopeful for him. Hayley Turner gets on well with him too. He ran well at Newcastle last time and he's taking on the winner from that day and a couple of other good horses too, so it's going to be a good race.

Richard Hannon, trainer of Oh This Is Us and Fox Power
Oh This Is Us has had a good break and is in good form. I'm not sure he really wants to go this far, but it's a good starting point and he'll improve for the run. Fox Power put up one of his best performances at Wolverhampton when he broke the juvenile track record. He gets this trip well and I'm hopeful of a very good run despite his 3lb penalty.
