Two key workouts for leading Juddmonte International hopes unfolded in dramatically different fashion yesterday morning and left Postponed a general evens shot for the Group 1, while major rival Time Test was withdrawn from the York showpiece.

While Roger Varian's stable-star Postponed, who is now no bigger than 11-10 (from 15-8) for the Knavesmire test, was advancing his claims with an early spin under Andrea Atzeni on the watered gallop in Newmarket, the sponsor's main hope Time Test failed to impress on Roger Charlton's Beckhampton slopes.

Varian was happy with Postponed who came from off the pace to collar King Bolete (Jack Mitchell) in taking fashion in his latest exercise since missing the King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Ascot last month.
