Chung to swap Hong Kong for Britain for short-term summer stint
Hong Kong jockey Angus Chung will ride in Britain for part of the summer after arranging a short-term stint with trainer Ralph Beckett.
Chung is 15th in the Hong Kong jockeys’ standings this season with 16 winners from 323 rides and will join Beckett following the end of the Hong Kong season on July 16.
The 28-year-old, who has previously ridden in Australia, said: “I’m going to ride in England. I’ll only be there for three weeks and it’s to try something new. It’s not a very long break for me because I will be back to ride the barrier trials here in Hong Kong.
“Overseas and Hong Kong are different, so I want to see how the pace is, different styles and how the tracks are.”
