The 2014 Grand National winner Pineau De Re will be back at the scene of his most famous victory as part of the popular Retraining of Racehorses parades taking place at Aintree.

Successful for Richard Newland in the Grand National, Pineau De Re has since begun a second career eventing, and will be on show each day of the meeting.

In addition, for the first time, several of the horses parading will be stabled adjacent to the horse welfare marquees, near the parade ring, during racing, allowing racegoers to get up close and personal with their favourites.

Lizzie Doolittle has retrained Pineau De Re for his new discipline, and they enjoyed a successful first season last year competing.

Doolittle also rides out for Newland, and said: "Pineau is an absolute pleasure to handle and take care of. He is so intelligent, honest and loyal and he's great fun to ride.

"He never fails to makes me smile and he definitely doesn't feel 15. He tries hard and is a very quick learner. Generally, a complete legend!"

Mon Mome: 100-1 winner of the Grand National will be just one of the former heroes on parade

Pineau De Re is not the only Grand National winner who will be parading, with Bindaree, Silver Birch, Mon Mome, Neptune Collonges and Rule The World also in attendance. They will be joined by Auroras Encore and Don't Push It on Saturday.

The enigmatic Mad Moose will also be on show, along with the distinctive and popular grey, Monet's Garden.

Now 20, Monet's Garden went on to have a very successful career showing following his exploits on the track, and was crowned RoR Horse of the Year in 2016.
