Tiz The Bomb will not run in either the Qipco 2,000 Guineas or Cazoo Derby after the Phoenix Thoroughbreds-owned colt was scratched from the Classics last week.

Trained in America by Kenny McPeek, the three-year-old was being targeted at the Derby despite Phoenix Thoroughbreds being suspended from having runners in Britain following allegations of money laundering against founder Amer Abdulaziz Salman, which first emerged in November 2019.

The Racing Post subsequently revealed the Luxembourg fund Abdulaziz had frequently cited as the source of his spending never existed, while he has failed to explain the origin of his wealth or the identity of any investors to the media or racing regulators, with France and Dubai also suspending Phoenix Thoroughbreds and Australia freezing prize-money won by its horses.
