Petit Mouchoir, winner of the Irish Champion Hurdle at Leopardstown in January and third in the Cheltenham version last month, will be bidding for a third Grade 1 win in today's Punchestown showpiece.

The six-year-old grey will be attempting to give Gigginstown House Stud, Henry de Bromhead and Bryan Cooper a first win in the event as he renews rivalry with My Tent Or Yours, who finished three lengths in front of him at Cheltenham.

Eddie O'Leary, spokesman for Gigginstown, said: "Petit Mouchoir ran very well behind Buveur D'Air, who is a very good horse, at Cheltenham and now he's learning to settle better he should have a very good chance."

Gigginstown and De Bromhead are also represented by Identity Thief, winner of the Fighting Fifth Hurdle last season, when he also finished second in today's race.

Switched back to hurdling after a disappointing stint over fences, the seven-year-old, the mount of Brian O'Connell, was last of six in the Aintree Hurdle over two and a half miles on his most recent start last month.

Pros Has been performing well at Grade 1 level, winning the Ryanair Hurdle and the Irish Champion Hurdle and finishing third in the Champion Hurdle at Cheltenham last month

Cons Gives the impression that he could be susceptible to a stronger finisher.

Now he's learning to settle better he should have a very good chance
