Patricks Park only first reserve as big guns stand ground in Galway Plate
Patricks Park is only first reserve for thetote.com Galway Plate on Wednesday but Willie Mullins still has five guaranteed starters as he attempts to win the race for only the second time.
Mullins' previous success arrived in 2011 with Blazing Tempo and Patricks Park, a winner of a handicap at the Punchestown festival in April, was expected to spearhead his challenge this time around but is number 23 on the list after declarations and only 22 can run.
Stable stalwarts Alelchi Inois and Ballycasey take their regular place in the field, while his team is completed by Koshari, Saturnas and Haymount.
Henry de Bromhead is also five-handed in his quest to win the race for a third time in four years following on from Shanahan's Turn (2015) and Balko Des Flos (2017). Sub Lieutenant tops the weights with Dylan Robinson taking off 3lb, while Bryan Cooper is on Calino D'Airy.
Gordon Elliott, as expected, has a strong team with Davy Russell on board Jury Duty and Jack Kennedy taking the ride on De Plotting Shed, who has yet to win over fences. Clarcam and 2016 winner Lord Scoundrel complete his quartet.
