Paisley Park to run in cheekpieces in Long Distance Hurdle after Wetherby third
Former Stayers' Hurdle winner Paisley Park will wear cheekpieces on his next appearance after "galloping with the handbrake on" at Wetherby on Saturday.
He came under pressure from jockey Aidan Coleman a long way out in the West Yorkshire Hurdle and looked poised for a heavy defeat entering the home straight, only to rally and finish third behind Indefatigable, beaten just over five lengths.
A decision on whether to switch to chasing with the nine-year-old, who gained a hugely popular win for owner Andrew Gemmell in the 2019 Stayers' Hurdle at Cheltenham, has now been postponed until at least after he has run in the Ladbrokes Long Distance Hurdle at Newbury on November 26.
