The lesson of my 399-1 winner: we need to exploit the advantages of punters over tipsters.

Being a tipster these days is easy. Pick a race, find a horse you like, choose the biggest price, make a semi-reasonable case for your selection, share it with the world and watch the price collapse.

If the horse wins, it’s boom time with as many emojis as your thumbs can handle. If it loses, just wave some cash around in front of a rented sports car and post that instead.
