Westover and Emily Upjohn are seductive - but you should resist their charms

Wide-margin winners of big races are highly seductive, which may explain why Westover is a red-hot favourite for the King George on Saturday. So is the lure of 'unlucky' losers, which may be why Emily Upjohn is next up in the betting.

You pay your money and you take your choice, but it's hard to understand why a pair of three-year-olds take market precedence over Mishriff. The former's Irish Derby romp saw him come home seven lengths in front of Piz Badile, who was beaten an identical margin in the Grand Prix de Paris next time out. And Tuesday was even further behind Westover at the Curragh, having nosed out Emily Upjohn in the Oaks the time before.
