'We trust each other' - wingman Jacob happy to help with Whittington revival

The success of Keep Running at Bangor on Wednesday was never going to make many headlines during Arc week, but it cemented the fruitful partnership between Daryl Jacob and Harry Whittington, who could be set for a bright campaign.

This time last year Whittington was still reeling from the hammer blow of losing a big chunk of his string when owner Andrew Brooks removed his horses from the trainer's yard, which is just under five miles from Lambourn across the Oxfordshire border.

They included the talented trio Saint Calvados, Rouge Vif and Simply The Betts, and – in their absence – Whittington saddled just ten winners last term.
