Wait for clarity continues with gambling review looming

October is rattling by and the waiting will soon be over for bookmakers as they prepare for the results of the government's review of gambling.

However, there is still uncertainty over exactly when the much delayed review, which is expected to give some clarity as to the future of FOBTs as well as gambling advertising, will finally be unveiled. The best guess at the moment is the end of this month or early November.

Tracey Crouch, the minister with responsibility for gambling, was giving no clues this week in a written answer to a question on FOBTs when she said: "We hope to publish the findings of the review by October at the earliest."
