Two Large Actions - and both have a New Year's Day victory to their name

Don't you just love a coincidence? Browsing through the results on New Year's Day, the eye was drawn to Musselburgh winner Large Action.

The Roger Fell-trained seven-year-old was claiming the first win of his 11-race career under in-form jockey Ryan Mania when successful in the 2m4½f novice handicap chase at odds of 25-1.

Notable as it was for connections, for me it only evoked memories of Oliver Sherwood's top-class hurdler of the same name, one who battled it out with the likes of Oh So Risky, Flakey Dove, Alderbrook, Danoli and Pridwell in the 1990s.
