Training partnerships taking over town as William Muir forms a new team

Some people in racing might have an old-fashioned approach to various aspects of life, but the same cannot be said about the Lambourn area's response to the newfangled idea of joint-training licences.

Paul Cole and his son Oliver, not strictly part of West Berkshire on the edge of Oxfordshire but very much on the team, became the first duo to saddle a winner in partnership last year, beating Newmarket's Simon and Ed Crisford by a matter of days.

Daniel Kubler and wife Claire then teamed up, the first and only spouses, and now William Muir – a popular and long-serving member of the training ranks – has reached out, linking up with the enthusiastic twenty-something Chris Grassick.
