Towcester's sad demise raises fears for other independent courses

'Towcester Racecourse Is Back' visitors to the venue's website are told. Next month, the website promises, the course will be transformed into a 'Winter Wonderland' for Christmas shoppers, while it also informs visitors the course caters for conferences, weddings, events, product launches, networking and concerts.

It is only when you scroll to the bottom you are told, 'There will be no horseracing in 2019 at Towcester Racecourse'.

Sadly, nor will there be in 2020 or any other year for the foreseeable future unless point-to-points take place there.
